June 17, 2009 Grand Island, NE Area Tornadoes
I intercepted 4 tornadoes in the vicinity of Grand Island, Nebraska on June 17. The largest and most photogenic tornado of the day occurred just west of Aurora along Highway 34. Slow storm motion, a good road network, good terrain, and good visibility make June 17 an ideal chase day. |
May 13, 2009 Kirksville, MO Area
Tornadoes
On May 13, I intercepted 2 tornadoes
in the Kirksville, MO area. The first
tornado developed near Milan and
traveled to just south of Green City.
The second tornado developed
between Green City and Novinger, and
did damage to many homes along Hwy.
6 west of Kirksville. Click the image to
